MINT HILL, NC – If you just haven’t found the time to get your COVID-19 vaccine or flu shot yet, Novant Health is making it easy: stop by their booth at Mint Hill Madness (located just inside the entrance) to get one or both!
From 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, Novant Health is offering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for ages 12 and up. The COVID-19 vaccine is free; ID and insurance are not required. Please wear a mask (one will be provided if you do not have one), and be prepared to remain at the site for 15 minutes after getting vaccinated. Walk ins are welcome. Novant is also offering flu shots, and RN Kiley Como ensures that it’s perfectly fine to knock both out at once.
“Novant Health is out here providing COVID shots – both first and second doses as well as boosters, Pfizer only,” said Como. “We are also providing flu shots, free of charge to anyone who needs them. As long as you fall within the guidelines, we’ll take care of you. We have plenty of doses for anybody who would like them.”
“Everybody’s different,” said Como when asked about whether you’ll be able to enjoy a side affect-free day after a pair of shots. “We do have our medical team on site for anyone who needs advice or has questions.”
Anyone who needs a COVID vaccine or flu shot is encourage to visit the Novant booth just inside the park entrance. “I’m here [at Mint Hill Madness] to give my son his first experience at an event like this,” said Phillip, who just moved to Mint Hill and was one of the first in line for a flu shot today. “We saw this and I said might as well go ahead and get a flu shot while I can. It’s to protect the community,” continued Phillip. “I think if everybody does their part we can slow this down a little bit.”
